A Federation Built on Support

Okuko Kai redefines the role of a martial arts federation. Unlike traditional commercial models, our focus is not on creating profit, but on supporting dojos, teachers, and practitioners through an at-cost, non-profit structure.

Okuko Kai is the federational arm of Okuko Ryu, created with the mission of fostering growth, excellence, respect, and community within martial arts. We do not operate as a business designed to generate income. Instead, we work to keep costs fair, transparent, and directly connected to the needs of the art and its practitioners.

Our purpose is to support the transmission of knowledge, the development of dojos, and the continuation of martial values through collaboration, peace, respect, and shared responsibility.

A Focus on Support, Not Profit

At Okuko Kai, we believe that every sincere practitioner deserves the opportunity to grow and develop in their martial path. This does not mean that everything is free. Training, administration, materials, events, and organizational work all carry real costs.

However, Okuko Kai is built on an at-cost principle: fees and contributions are used to cover necessary expenses, not to create profit. Any resources received are directed back into supporting the martial arts community and maintaining the integrity of Okuko Ryu.

How We Achieve This

Okuko Kai is sustained through at-cost contributions, sponsorships, donations, and collaborative initiatives. These resources allow us to cover necessary expenses and support the places where help is needed most.

We believe that a federation should not place unnecessary financial burdens on its members. At the same time, we also recognize that serious martial arts practice requires commitment, responsibility, and shared contribution.

By partnering with like-minded individuals, dojos, and organizations, we ensure that Okuko Kai remains grounded in integrity, transparency, and service to the art. Every contribution is reinvested into the martial arts ecosystem to support its growth, continuity, and proper transmission.

 

Our Philosophy

We do not see Okuko Ryu primarily as self-defence, but as a way of life.

It is not only a collection of techniques, but a path of discipline, respect, awareness, and personal refinement. The art must be practiced sincerely, transmitted responsibly, and preserved with humility.

Okuko Kai exists to support this path. By reducing unnecessary financial pressure and working through an at-cost, non-profit model, we aim to make training and transmission more accessible while preserving the seriousness and dignity of the art.
